Why pregnancy apps are among the most downloaded apps on the market

Ever heard pregnant women comparing their baby bump to the size of a grape (9 weeks) or a cantaloupe (34 weeks)? Chances are they’ve got a pregnancy app in their pocket!

These handy apps are all reasonably similar in that they all provide daily or weekly updates on bub’s development as well as your body’s changes during pregnancy.

“It was quite amazing how timely and accurate the information sometimes was,” wrote Gemma from VIC.

“I’d be feeling a new sensation one day and sure enough the next morning the app would tell me that this week I would start experiencing that exact thing and then providing more information about why and what to expect, it was great!”.

On top of what you can expect week to week, daily info and tips and tricks, each app has slightly different features, some with forums where you can connect with other pregnant women, some track your appointments, bumpie progress or kicks in later pregnancy. There’s birth plan checklists, baby name suggestions, size comparisons, and much more. So you may even want to download a few to access more features and more info.

Again, these apps and advice from other women in the forums are no replacement for medical advice and we urge you to contact your doctor or medical professional should you have any concerns. However, they still provide an abundance of useful info that can be reassuring and super interesting especially for first-time mumma’s!
